FaxCore Upgrades .NET-Based Fax Server Solution
News that didn't fit in the February issue of Customer Interaction Solutions magazine:
We, the editorial staff at CIS magazine, hold a certain spite toward fax machines--especially those in our offices in Norwalk, CT. They are frustrating, space-consuming, time- and paper-wasting, i.e., altogether lame.
I find myself daydreaming about the scene in Mike Judge's brilliant Office Space , wherein Peter, Samir and Michael ( Bolton, HA! ) take the loathed printer to a vacant field and perish it with punches, dropkicks, foot-stomps and a baseball bat, to the sound of gangsta rap in the background. Michael Bolton has to be dragged off by the other two when he goes back to tear out the inside entrails of the destroyed machine.
[Sigh] Good times.
Which, somehow, leads to the news...
Last month, FaxCore Corporation, a provider of fax and document server automation solutions, announced an enhanced version of its FaxCore software. FaxCore is a .NET-based fax server system for centrally managing all inbound and outbound fax communications and for providing comprehensive document archiving capabilities.
The new FaxCore 4370 includes tighter integration with MS Outlook, a Web-based printer to fax-enable third-party applications, barcode support and an HTML-based cover-page editor (for the new cover sheets on all TPS reports).
"The paperless office is an attainable goal because fax server technology enables organizations to eliminate a huge source of paper--the fax machine," Tom Linhard, the company's channel sales director, said. "FaxCore helps organizations convert paper-based faxing processes into electronic documents that can be faxed, e-mailed and saved in digital format."
It also provides central management for all fax communications via a browser-based system (to better manage those TPS reports) and, with the new upgrade's more seamless integration with third-party applications, organizations can automate their fax-centric operations. It is intended to enable centralizing, controling and managing of all types of fax communications and streamline business processes.
FaxCore 4370 provides small and midsize businesses (SMBs), as well as enterprise-class operations, with an intuitive, browser-based interface to enable users the ability to send and receive faxes with the convenience equal to e-mail. Organizations can use the thin-client system to fax-enable other applications, while more easily deploying and maintaining FaxCore.
Key Features of FaxCore 4370:
-HTML Cover Page Editor
-Web-Based Printer Driver
-Support for Additional Production Fax Interfaces
-Fax Routing with Barcodes
FaxCore 4370 is available through authorized resellers.
This won't replace simple e-mail, but it should replace the smug-looking, corner-sitting, tree-killing-for-paper fax machines, so as to make the means more convenient and less frustrating ( PC Load Letter...? ).
